About The Bohemian Embassy
As most of you know, when Julia and Noah met, they were coming from different
coasts - and different cultures. Indeed, it is not an exaggeration to say that they
embody the attraction of opposites.
The Bohemian Embassy was born of a dream. Specifically, Noah’s dream to persuade a California-and-Bali-loving-pink-yoga-gear-wearing free spirit (whose playa name is Rainbow) to consider spending more time in a New England village noted in the 17th century, as now, for its Puritanical attitude toward the very notion of fun.
The basic idea was, and is, that Julia had the unique opportunity as Ambassadress
to bring her worldview and her wardrobe; her sisterhood, sensuality and sage (the plant!); to an environment more commonly known for its intellectualism and mental focus, its academic rigor and a more cerebral approach to being. The result, Noah promised (with nothing but intuition to rely on) would be a joyous cauldron
of creative confabulation: throw all the ingredients in together, apply heat,
and pretend it’s a hot tub.
In this misty mystical sauna embassy, the visiting Bohemians may discover much about the worlds of punctuality, planning, high concept thought and action that drive actual, real world events; and the Cantabrigian academician realpolitikers may discover altered states of consciousness and connection limned in colors and shades of emotions they did not imagine existentially possible.
How does it work? You’re about to find out!
The Bohemian Embassy experience depends on everyone bringing the fullest versions of themselves, their most open configurations of possibility, evolution, exploration - and allowing what emerges to make meaning in provocative juxtaposition.
Sometimes it turns out bohemia and academia are one and the same.
Sometimes they are … um … not.
Above all, the ideal of The Bohemian Embassy is to combine high and low, old and new, class and kitsch, psychoanalysis and psychedelics, dreamwork and homework, the doctoral and the divine. Nothing needs to fit together. Also, everything fits together.
What follows could be called light, art, beauty, absurdism, camp, quirk, transcendence, immanence …
We call it love.
Welcome to
The Bohemian Embassy
